Codes and policies
Concern draws on a number of charity codes and practices that dictate how we work.
Concern's work is guided by a series of policy documents, which have been approved by our council.
Committed to saving lives
We also draw on a number of other codes and practices.
In all emergency interventions, we are guided by the following codes of conduct and practice:
- The Code of Conduct of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Disaster Relief
- The Humanitarian Charter
- The People in Aid Code of Practice in the Management and Support of Aid Personnel
- The Sphere Projects Minimum Standards in Disaster Response
- Humanitarian Accountability Partnership International
- Accountability Framework
- The Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising
Images and messages
We have also been involved in the development of the Code of Conduct on Images and Messages. All of the charities that sign up to this code have a responsibility to uphold the values of human dignity, respect and equality in all their communications.
