Know Your World 2009: the winners

And the winners are: St Macartan’s College Monaghan!

After nine regional heats, two semi-finals and one national final, St Macartan’s College, Monaghan has emerged as this year’s Know Your World champions.

A close one

It was always going to be a tightly fought contest. With just three points separating the top seven teams at one stage, the organisers were wishing they’d planned a tie-breaker round!

However, St Macartan’s managed to edge past Midleton College, Cork in the last round, to win by a mere two points. In joint third place were Douglas Community School, Cork and Newpark Comprehensive, Dublin.
