While political uncertainty affected Concern Worldwide in Nepal, our local partners have been able to adapt well to the changing circumstances.

A new field office has allowed us to work more closely with partners, and we have seen an increase in confidence among the communities where we work as improvements take place.

We focus our work on livelihoods, water and sanitation and nutrition.

Working for communities

Our food-for-work and food-for-training programmes have helped protect the livelihoods of communities in crisis situations. These programmes ensure communities have enough to eat while creating or rehabilitating basic community facilities and providing vital skills training.

Almost 14,000 people in 29 districts received rice in return for work or training.

Drinking water

Despite delays caused by weather, we provided safe drinking water and sanitation to more than 7,500 people in 14 communities.

More achievements in Nepal:

• Community therapeutic care pilot programme started in three areas
• 127 food-for-work projects were undertaken, rebuilding schools, bridges and more
• 49 food-for-training projects also undertaken
