Don’t look away from conflict and crisis. Your donation can save lives.
When the people of Ireland come together, we can beat extreme poverty.
Every day seems to bring a new crisis - from conflict, to climate change, to rising hunger levels. It can feel overwhelming, for all of us. But the people of Ireland will not look away.
Not from the conflicts displacing millions of families and causing extreme hunger. Not from parents forced to distract their children from how it feels to starve. Not from extreme weather destroying homes and livelihoods.
Because in Ireland, we remember the pain of hunger, and of the world turning its back on our suffering. So when we see hunger, hardship and injustice, we make it Our Concern. By donating to Concern, our supporters are providing children with life-saving food, water and medicine, and farmers with the tools and training to build resilience and feed their families long into the future. And by giving a monthly gift, regular donors can provide a lifeline all year round.

How your support makes a difference

In Yemen, years of conflict have left thousands of families displaced, like Haj*'s. With food prices rocketing and her husband struggling to find work, Haj and her husband often skip meals so their children can eat.
We met Haj and her 10-month-old son Basam* at a Concern-supported health centre in the refugee camp in which they live. Basam was lethargic, short of breath, and was unable to play. Our team diagnosed him with acute malnutrition, as well as fever, anaemia and pneumonia.
Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide Basam with ready-to-use therapeutic food - a calorie and nutrient-dense peanut paste that helped him regain his strength - and antibiotics, as well as giving Haj access to nutrition counselling and routine health checks. Nine months later, Basam is a healthy and happy little toddler, showing steady growth.
By giving a regular gift, you can help children like Basam all year round.
