When crisis hits, with you by our side, we respond
For more than 50 years, we have been supporting people in crisis throughout the world. But this has only ever been possible because of people like you who stood with us, and continue to stand with us.
People like you help us to provide life-saving therapeutic food, shelter, emergency kits and so much more to people caught in the most desperate of circumstances.
Our story began in 1968, when a small group in Ireland refused to stand by as famine devastated Biafra. They took action, driven by empathy and a belief that the world could be better. Today, that same spirit of compassion continues and with you by our side, we are still saving lives and lifting millions out of poverty.
As humanitarian needs continue to rise, we hope you’ll respond.
Every donation makes a real life saving impact, helping those who need it most. Please donate today.
Our mission to end extreme poverty
It is part of the Irish DNA to support people who are experiencing many of the hardships that, historically, we suffered ourselves.
Responding to humanitarian need is in our nature, and with more than 305 million people expected to need this support by the end of 2025, time is of the essence.
More people are being forcibly displaced by crises beyond their control, while almost one in five children around the world are living in or fleeing from conflict zones.
But no matter how hard it may seem, it’s people who believe the world can change that make all the difference. It’s thanks to people like you, that we can respond.
