What your continued support can do

Right now, one of the places worst affected by this hunger crisis is Sudan. Years of devastating drought have destroyed crops and livestock, leading to a critical lack of food. Now, three years of ongoing conflict and violence means access to farmland and water has become even more dangerous, and millions of families have been forced from their homes.

Samiya* and her son Faheem* are among them. They fled to a refugee camp in Chad when conflict came to their home of Ardamata in West Darfur, when Faheem was just a newborn baby. The situation at the camp was extremely difficult, with Samiya struggling to find food for her son. She chose to return to Sudan, attempting to repair her family home that had been seriously damaged by conflict, when Faheem began to fall ill.

Food in the village is scarce, and Faheem, now aged one, became severely malnourished. Worried, Samiya took him to the local health centre, which had been repaired and reopened by Concern. Here, Faheem was put on a course of emergency therapeutic food, helping him to regain his strength. Samiya says that his condition is improving every day.

Faheem is just one of many lives saved through our programmes and an incredible example of the amazing difference our monthly donors make each day.

By donating to Concern today you can be part of that lifesaving and life-changing community.
