Philippines Typhoon Appeal

Concern Worldwide has launched an emergency appeal in response to the devastating typhoon which hit the Philippines on Saturday. Thousands of people have died and millions are in need of urgent help.

Humanitarian needs

International media reports are currently suggesting that 9.5 million people have been affected. The true nature and scale of the disaster will only become evident in the coming days, once access to the most affected areas becomes possible.

Emergency response

Our emergency response will focus on supporting some of the people worst-affected by the disaster. Our experienced emergency team will assess how we can best help some of the estimated 9.5 million people affected by the disaster. The immediate priorities are to provide food, water and shelter. Our CEO Dominic MacSorley said:

The degree of devastation is enormous and has overwhelmed local capacity to respond. Right now food, water and shelter is urgently required.
