Motion: “Fidel Castro’s legacy should be celebrated”

Sixteen schools progressed to the Playoff Round and competed for eight of the sixteen places in the Knockout Round.

The top eight schools without any byes in the League Phase progressed automatically to the Knockout Round and will debate against the winners of the Playoff Round in early March.

Quarter Finals

The Quarter-finals 2016-2017 are scheduled to take place on 22 March. The teams taking part are:

  • Davitt College, Castlebar vs. CBS Secondary School, Thurles

Semi Finals

The Semi-Finals 2016-2017 will take place on Thursday, 6 April in the Talbot Hotel Stillorgan.The teams taking part are:

National Final

The Concern Debates National Final will be held on Thursday, 4 May in The Helix, DCU.

The motion for debate is: "The Trump presidency will be a blessing in disguise for Africa"
