Press release22 September 2025

When you register to host a Cook for Gaza event you will receive: Cook for Gaza placemats; three delicious recipes; and a flavourful za’atar spice mix.

This October, Concern Worldwide is asking everyone to gather their friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to share a meal and raise essential funds for the people of Gaza.

Whether you host a cosy dinner, an office lunch or a coffee morning – every euro raised will go directly to our partner’s response in Gaza.

Humanitarian Situation in Gaza

“As we approach the second-year anniversary of the current phase of conflict in Gaza, over half a million people face starvation, with famine already confirmed in Gaza Governate and projected to expand further,” Humanitarian Advisor, Catríona Pender, said.

“It is so easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless by the catastrophic news coming out of Gaza. No action we take ever feels like enough in the face of this atrocity. But through hosting a Cook for Gaza event we hope supporters take comfort in taking tangible action for Gaza and connecting with friends and family who share their compassion.”

Organising your Event

When you register to host a Cook for Gaza Event you will receive: Cook for Gaza placemats; three delicious recipes; and a flavourful za’atar spice mix from Zaytoun – a cooperative supporting Palestinian farmers, which has kindly been provided by Nourish Health Food Store.

Those who raise more than €200 will receive a Concern apron as a thank you gift.

Concern's Response

Concern’s partner NGO continues to truck clean water for drinking and cooking to displaced communities in 10 locations in Khan Younis, Deir al Balah and Gaza City. So far, we have reached over 100,000 people with deliveries taking place daily.

Our partner organisation is also working to improve water and sanitation - building toilets, installing cisterns, conducting hygiene promotion sessions and distributing hygiene kits containing soap, water containers and sanitary pads.
