Concern Worldwide is implementing the Irish Aid-funded Emergency Preparedness and Response in Somalia programme with two local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) partners: YouthLink (YL) and Shabelle Community Development Organization (SHACDO).

The 5-year (2023–2027) programme aims to provide multi-sectoral assistance to 40,000 conflict and natural disaster-affected people, as well as foster preparedness through integrated Health and Nutrition, Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance, Education in Emergencies and Emergency Response Preparedness.

In October 2024, the Humanitarian Impact Initiative conducted a Mid-Term Evaluation. This highlighted that the programme is highly relevant for addressing the problems faced by vulnerable groups affected by conflict and climate-related disasters, identified by Concern Worldwide's context analysis from previous interventions in the area as well as sectoral surveys.

This paper explores the progress made across all of the programme's sectors, including recommendations and key conclusions.
