The civil war in Central African Republic (CAR) has been described as 'one of Africa's bloodiest conflicts' and for five years running, CAR has been declared ‘the hungriest country in the world'.
This brutal conflict has resulted in over 600,000 people becoming internally displaced. Families have been forced to abandon their homes and farms in order to escape the violence. When they can finally return, they return to nothing but rubble.
In 2019, the severe acute malnutrition rate was 2.1% - above the 2% emergency level set by WHO.
Urgent nutrition support is needed in order to cope with the influx of malnourished children coming to Concern supported nutrition centres.
Your donation will not just support our 13 nutrition centres across the country, but also help provide long-term solutions to families facing starvation by supplying them with drought-resistant seeds and farming tools.
Please give what you can and thank you for all your support.
